Formatting Pendrive /Memory Card Using CMD Method | techSMSBD

Sometimes it is hard to format pendrives or memory cards in the usual way in Windows Operating System. Then you need to follow CMD Method. I hope this will help you.....

Follow these steps:

1. Press start button or click on start menu

2. Type cmd. Right click on cmd. Choose "Run as Administrator"

3. Type diskpart and hit Enter.

4. Now list of hard drives and other storage devices (also pendrives and memory cards) will appear on the screen on the screen. If your pendrive or memory cardis connected with your PC, you PC has only one hard disk and no other storage device is connected, then the list will look like this.

5. Now type select disk 1 & Hit Enter [If your desired device is listed on number 1. Usually hard disk is listed on number 0.]

6. Type clean & press Enter key.

7. Type create partition primary & Hit Enter.

8. Type fs=fat 32 quick & Hit Enter.

9. Now the formatting process of your device will start. It will take a while depending on the size of your device.

10. When formatting is completed, type exit & Hit Enter.
